Gidget Gein’s life was cut short in 2008 but during his years on earth, he made an impact on the art world. He was fearless and pushed boundaries creating outsider art that depicted the controversies and undoings of the Hollywood celebrity world. He found his musical feet as the bassist, songwriter and original member of Marilyn Manson and the Spooky Kids. He also founded the experimental group The Dali Gaggers, and helped shape the UnPop and GaGa art movements. As quoted on the Hyaena Gallery, Gein’s “paintings are a relevant commentary on our idol-worshipping society”.
